UNC Extends Roy Williams’ Contract

The University of North Carolina has extended the coaching contract of their famous coach, Roy Williams, making him a part of the Tar Heels organization until the 2014-2015 season. While his base salary is only $325,000, he could potentially earn about $2 million per year if he meets certain academic and athletic expectations with the Heels.

Said UNC athletic director Dick Baddour, “Roy Williams is the most complete coach in the country. I knew when we hired him he was an outstanding basketball coach, but he has also exceeded our every expectation in the manner in which he runs a basketball program. He believes in character first, he coaches for all the right reasons and he is a first-rate ambassador of our university.”
