Gary Parrish’s Preseason All-Americans

I know what you’re thinking: “Two Gary Parrish blogs in a row? Are you kidding me?” Well, no we’re not kidding you. Gary has another article out that demands to be discussed. We think you might like this one a little better, too. Today Mr. Parrish has picked his preseason All-American team, which includes five of the most obvious players you could name right off the top of your head. His First Team All-American selections:

Guard: Darren Collison, UCLA
Guard: Stephen Curry, Davidson
Forward: Blake Griffin, Oklahoma
Forward: Luke Harangody, Notre Dame
Forward: Tyler Hansbrough, North Carolina

This list represents one of the safest, if not the most uncreative selection of five of the best college basketball players from last season. However, it’s fun to think about this team. In the NBA they would say it’s undersized, but in the NCAA, a team with five power forwards like this would be pretty unstoppable. Makes you long for the days when the US National Basketball Team was made up of college players.
