Heels Beat Devils, UConn Wins 12th Straight, Dayton Beats Xavier

Here’s a recap on some of the most important games played last night:

  • The North Carolina Tar Heels took over in the second half of their rivalry game with Duke, pulling away to win 101-87. The win is significant because it marks the fourth straight time the Heels have beaten Duke at Duke, which is a feat few teams have accomplished.  Tyler Hansbrough didn’t have a huge game, but Ty Lawson of North Carolina sure did, notching 25 points on 8 of 11 shooting and five assists. Nobody could keep in front of him.
  • UConn continues to roll.  The top-ranked Huskies beat their rivals, No. 22 Syracuse, to mark their 12th win in a row. UConn has been beating Syracuse with regularity lately.
  • In the Atlantic Ten, the top two teams battled it out last night. Dayton overcame Xavier’s defense to win 58-71. Dayton had lost six straight games to Xavier before last night’s matchup.
